Official description

Explore partnerships for a trade-in program that makes it possible for small landscape owners to transition to electric equipment.
(Full action name in the CAP)

Description

Starting January 1, 2024, California retailers can no longer sell gas-powered lawn and garden tools like lawn mowers, string trimmers, leaf blowers, and chainsaws. This law aims to cut down on harmful emissions from using these tools. To help homeowners and landscapers switch to eco-friendly equipment, the Air Pollution Control District (APCD) offers incentive funding for swapping old equipment for greener options. The program launched on February 9, 2024, and will run until funds run out. Visit the Electric Landscape Equipment Assistance Funding (E-LEAF) page for more information and a list of participating dealers.
