Introduction

The City has initiated the transition to low or zero-emission vehicles in its own municipal fleet. Relatively high upfront vehicle cost and a lack of variety in vehicle models have limited fleet adoption to date, though the largest barrier is the cost and complexity of installing the refueling stations for all-electric vehicles across the City for public service needs and shift utilization. The City is exploring creative options to address the complexity of installing charging infrastructure to support fleet electrification.
