Description
Development of the clean energy sector is crucial in supporting the City of San Diego's climate goals of net-zero carbon emissions and the transition to 100% renewable energy. Funding from the San Diego Community Power Member Agency grant made the City's collaboration with the Julius Education Center possible to identify and support the development of the local clean energy workforce.
Now publicly available, the San Diego Clean Energy Career Map highlights 60 career pathways across five sectors: electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, residential and commercial construction, renewable energy systems, HVAC and building automation systems, and utilities and power distribution. The interactive online tool provides students, job seekers, and the broader community to explore locally relevant careers in clean energy. The map initiative focuses insights within underrepresented communities and Communities of Concern to promote equitable access to resources, education, and employment opportunities.
