Official description

Increase education campaigns to improve motorist behavior to result in a safer right-of-way for bicyclists and pedestrians.
(Full action name in the CAP)

Description

The City aims to increase walking, rolling, and biking trips, which requires motorists to learn to share the road for everyone's safety. With a grant from California's Office of Traffic Safety (the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program, or STEP), public safety officers work to address drivers endangering pedestrians and bicyclists. The grant also funds public education efforts, like setting up information booths at local farmer's markets to promote pedestrian and bicycle safety. For more information and resources on eliminating traffic-related fatalities and severe injuries in San Diego, visit the City's Vision Zero website.
