Amend the Land Development Code to increase landscape and parking lot tree planting requirements.

The Climate Action Plan Consistency Regulations were adopted by City Council and added to the Municipal Code in 2022. These regulations require new developments to include shading in pedestrian areas to reduce heat exposure. If a development lacks space for trees, developers must plant them nearby or pay the Urban Tree Canopy Fee to support climate resilience efforts.
