Official description

Support ongoing gallon per capita water use (GPCD) targets.
(Full action name in the CAP)

Description

To help meet water conservation targets, the Public Utilities Department (PUD) will continue to offer Water Use Efficiency (WUE) rebates and surveys to both residential and commercial customers to improve water efficiency. PUD will also calculate the State Water Conservation Standards, which determine how much water the city should use each year. The calculation includes factors like residential and commercial usage, water loss, and other adjustments.

WUE rebates and surveys to San Diego customers will still be available during the upcoming fiscal year (FY25), and once the State Board approves the city's water use target, the PUD will measure and report the City's water savings.

The City will continue to promote public awareness about water conservation through education and outreach programs. Future conservation efforts will focus on outdoor water use.
