The City of San Diego recognizes the importance of maintaining a thriving urban forest. Unlike natural forests, urban forests rely on human intervention to thrive. The department of Parks and Recreation, Transporation, and Planning are all actively working to identify areas with active transportation and recreational connections for tree planting.
