The City of San Diego is concerned with addressing tree equity in Communities of Concern, and understands the environmental and health benefits associated with trees.
Not only does the City plan to maintain and protect existing trees in Communities of Concern, it also plans to plant 40,000 new trees in these communities by 2030.
Street Planting (MC 62.0600) – This policy establishes rules and regulations to control and protect planting on City streets.
Urban Forestry Program, Five-Year Plan – Adopted in 2017, the long-range plan brings together existing policies and guidelines, best urban forestry management practices, and community planning.
